Our first full day in Zakynthos was a rousing restorative success. There was no alarm to wake us. No morning meetings to attend. Our room has a Sun and Airlock which allows us to walk straight out to the pool. It is on the terrace I tap away this morning. Previous visits to Greece have always been work related. Finding fuel for jetskis, when I was a deck hand. Sourcing equipment or visiting immigration as an AVIT Officer.

We have been staying here. It is a family run boutique hotel and there are lots of lovely touches that one notices when you work in hospitality. The lounge music for example is in English/French/Italian/Portuguese and Greek. The restaurant has delicious local food and functional modern design. There are plenty of land locked all inclusive ship wrecked Cruise ships if you are so inclined. It was to one of these we visited yesterday to get some massages. It was nice if pool based group fitness and polo shirts are your thing.

We have enjoyed slow roasting by the pool. The pool temperature is 27 degrees; no excuses for me not to get in. Our new favourite pool side refreshment is a pink grapefruit tipple which is perfectly quaffed in the sun. We had a decent walk down the beach and found a nice quiet beach club which may be visited later. I am currently researching birthday activities for Silvi’s birthday tomorrow but I think we have settled into a winning formula.
